A Change of Seasons

And finally here we are, short sleeves and stripes season! Well I never actually left back any stripes, not even in winter, but as for a short sleeved striped shirt, it's the first of the season to me, after the striped dress which I got sick with - but it's not its fault, poor thing, and neither is mine as I was fully layered even with my black trench for going out! It's this I-don't-know-what's-going-on-and-how-to-dress season - but wasn't it March, the crazy month? Anyhow it's finally May and without any weather jokes (like, raining for a whole month) we are totally out from this super long awful winter. Just so you know, I really like winter, with its warm knits, coats, boots, I really really enjoy it and love it.. But as it was unusually long this year, I think we have had enough.

E finalmente ci siamo, righe e maniche corte! Beh no in effetti le righe non le abbandono mai neanche d'inverno, ma la maglietta a righe a maniche corte è la prima di stagione, dopo il vestitino a righe con cui mi sono ammalata - ma mica è colpa sua eh porello, e nemmeno mia che mi ero coperta bene, che per uscire portavo anche il trench! E' sto clima che nonsicapisceniente-nonsochecacchiomettere - ma una volta non era Marzo, ad essere pazzerello? Comunque oramai siamo in Maggio e se non ci fa brutti scherzi (tipo pioggia battente per un mese) dai dai che ne siamo fuori, da questo luungo orrido inverno. Oh, sia ben chiaro che l'inverno, con la lana calda, i cappotti, gli stivali, mi piace un sacco.. Però direi che quest'anno ne abbiamo avuto abbastanza, e che è durato troppo a lungo.

This is my fav striped shirt so far. When I don't know what to put on and the climate is just right (not too hot, not too cold) I usually pull it off and pair it with anything. I can almost dress up blindly with neutral stripes like these, and make it sure that anything I'd wear would go well with it.
Due to this passion for stripes, do you think I have tons of it? You guessed it right. And it seems I am inclined to wear this shirt with neutral skirts in this camel color, too. This one is a thrifted vintage and I use it a lot, it's very versatile as shown in this mix & match post, and I've been using it even in the middle of winter due to its warm cotton fabric.

Questa è la magliettina a righe che preferisco in assoluto. Quando non so che mettere e il clima lo permette (non freddo, non caldo) ricorro a lei, e ci abbino qualunque cosa. Mi ci posso anche quasi vestire a occhi chiusi, che tanto con una maglietta a righe e neutra come questa, sta bene tutto. Pensate che vista la passione rigaiola, abbia tante cose a righe? In effetti sì (anche se non sono mai abbastanza).. E pare anche che ultimamente io abbia anche una predilezione a mettere questa maglietta con gonnelline di questo colore caramello: questa in particolare l'ho pagata quasi niente e la uso tantissimo, è molto versatile, come ho mostrato in questo post di mix & match, e l'ho usata anche in pieno inverno perché è di un cotone caldo. Quindi fra poco dovrò metterla via e me la godo le ultime volte. Sono in fase di transizione verso le gonnelline estive!

Since I have a new closet and now I can actually see what is inside, and with season change, I noticed I have way too many neutral tones skirts! I should really take care of it, somehow. ;)
And while we are talking about it, I started the seasonal swapping, in with light things and out with winterwear.Well, I am almost done actually, I just need to put away all of the wool that's still around and to find a place for the coats. I think I might need to invest on something between these options: a) big and cute boxes, better matching my white and bue color scheme; b) those ugly plastic bin-things with wheels; c) a new closet. I'd rather prefer the third option of course, but it's not going to happen anytime soon, the second one would be great for organization, not that great to the eye (and that would involve plastic, and with the moving I decided not to have plastic in our lives any more, if possible), so I'd go for the first one. If only I could find nice boxes that are long lasting too! Since I saw pretty boxes the other day, even white and blue ones, but the prettier were poorly made, and the unpleasant were durable (and not that cheap). Something inbetween perhaps? Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
The boxes I bought a couple of years back, which went through my cats nails and a moving as well, are now shattered and destroyed and patched up with duct tape and ready for the garbage bin.

On the other hand, I am done with the season change in my fiancee's closet: it took 2 minutes to do. It consisted on taking out from a drawer 2 linen pants, 3 shorts and a few short sleeved shirts. Sometimes I'd love to be a man.. Since they don't even need to do the season change most of the times, as everything is going to stay onto just one single armoire... I was thinking about this while doing it, and then just a few days back, while I was looking for boxes in a shop, I heard the same thing from a boy talking with her girlfriend (clearly a new fresh couple) whose were looking for boxes as well.. Her: "Dear, those boxes are your style". Him: "But I have never made the season change!". Her: "Oh dear, and where do you put all of your things?". Him:" Well, I don't have that much as you, everyhting is going to stay in just a single closet". That confirmed my theory! It's another of those things that they will never understand about women. They are actually happy with just one pair of jeans and 3 shirts! :D


Ora che ho finalmente un armadio in cui vedo le mie cose, e col recente cambio di stagione, mi sono accorta di possedere tante, troppe gonne dai colori neutri.. Dovrò in qualche modo rimediare. ;)
E infatti e a proposito, ho iniziato il cambio dell'armadio. Cioè, l'ho anche quasi finito.. Dovrei solo togliere di mezzo i maglioni pesanti e ingombranti, e trovare un posto per i cappotti. Ovvero, credo che dovrò spendere qualcosetta per una di queste opzioni: a) grosse scatole decenti, magari finalmente abbinate alla camera bianca e blu;  b) quei contenitori/cosi brutti in plastica con anche le rotelline; c) un altro armadio. 
Mi piacerebbe di più la terza opzione ovviamente, ma la vedo poco fattibile al momento, la seconda sarebbe forse più pratica ma bruttina a vedersi (e poi mal sopporto la plastica e tempo fa ho deciso di non avere più niente di plastica in casa, se possibile), quindi mi butterò sicuramente sulla prima. Se solo si trovassero scatole durevoli a buon prezzo.. No perché di carine ne ho viste anche nei giorni scorsi, alcune bianche e blu addirittura, ma quelle più carine erano scadentissime, quelle bruttine erano resistenti (e costosette). Una via di mezzo? Avete dei suggerimenti? 
Le scatole che avevo preso un paio d'anni fa, passate dalle unghiette della micia, e anche attraverso il trasloco, sono tutte ammaccate e strappate e rattoppate con lo scotch e ormai proprio da buttare...

Finito invece con successo il cambio di stagione dell'uomo: 2 minuti impiegati. Consistito nel tirare fuori da un cassetto 2 paia di pantaloni estivi, 3 pantaloncini, poche camicie a maniche corte. Certe volte vorrei essere un uomo.. Che loro il cambio non lo devono nemmeno fare, perché sta tutto in un solo armadio... °_° ci ragionavo su nei giorni scorsi, poi ho anche sentito la stessa frase l'altro giorno mentre cercavo, appunto, le scatole in un negozio, detta da un ragazzo alla sua fidanzata (evidentemente una coppia che stava assieme da poco) che cercava anche lei le scatole per il cambio di stagione.. Lei: "Queste scatole mi sembrano adatte a te". Lui: "Ma io il cambio di stagione non l'ho mai fatto!". Lei: "E come fai con tutta la tua roba?!". Lui: "Mah, sta tutto in un solo armadio!". Beh. Così ne ho avuto la conferma. E' un'altra di quelle cose tipicamente femminili per loro incomprensibili. Loro che con un jeans e 3 camicie sono felici! :D
