Back to basics

Yesterday I was looking for my skirts - which are still in the not opened closed boxes after the moving. I couldn't find it (but I was finally able to find some dresses I was hunting last week! duh!) and so I got back wearing my favourite skirt, one of the few survivors that didn't end going into the moving boxes, which are like a bottomless wishing well, it's out of question finding anything in there...
Alright, I should stop procrastinating as it's now time to actually build the closet and the chest of drawers that are lying there, still in their flat packages (ikea, odi et amo).
I've also found this top in the box. I almost didn't remember I actually had it, basic as it is (and I think I haven't worn it from a couple of years).
I didn't combine this skirt with a simple black top yet, but I have to say that I liked it, quite basic but great for a cloudy afternoon (but still moist and hot) in the last days of August.
Pics were taken indoor in my new bedroom, which is still a work in progress... The molding is still missing. But you can see the door (that I'd like to paint white), the laminated floor assembled by us (what a pain!), and the armoire... Where, you say? It's right there, still in the flat package boxes! ;)
Ho hey, hi Patrizio! He just couldn't resist, he had to be in the very first pics taken in the new home  =^.^=

Mancano ancora persino i battiscopa.

This is one of my favourite skirts. I got it at the sales last year, and worn it countless times since then, as: it's a very smart, retro looking skirt, poofy but not too much, the fabric is hard wearing so it's great also for outdoor activities like exploring a river park (check), the color goes with anything from solids to prints, it's a perfect "just a little bit over the knee" lenght, it has buttons on the front, and (drumroll) it has pockets! No surprise I had to order it on the website as it was sold out in the shop. And it was just 11€. I loved last year sales (this year, not that much..)
It is my to go skirt. When I have no idea, this is one of those skirts that works as a blank canvas or a pair of jeans to me. And I love it. Last summer I actually got compliments from my aunts about it, telling that skirts like those were very much in style when they were young ladies. Yup, my fashionable aunties! *
My fiancee doesn't quite like it tho, calling it "that huge skirt". But I really don't care, I keep wearing it again and again...:)

outfit details: skirt: Promod (last year) - sandals: Zara (last year)

* Looking at this skirt, my aunt, who keeps all of her old clothes in a mint condition, remembered she had a similar poofy skirt in the late 50s early 60s... She went and picked it from her wardrobe, I tried it on, it was a perfect fit. She gave it to me :)
The fabric was bought in Rome by my grandma who gave it to her sister, my aunt, and she made a nice full skirt to go dancing.... But this is another story!

E' andata a prenderla nell'armadio, l'ho provata, andava a pennello.
