Summer sales I cannot partecipate at (and a new place)

 image via Pinterest

While I absolutely have no money at this time I could spend in new clothes, neither in local shopping, it's nice to see that my fav online shops are having sales, including my favourites: ModCloth yet again, Miss Patina and Sugarhill Boutique. If I had some extra money I'd break my wallet and go get at least a couple of their pretty dresses for sure. But I have no money at all at this time, so I can just dream by now.
But I can tell you, I really don't care! I din't liked that much this spring/summer collections this year, there were too many weird things, too many ugly prints (starting with the tribal ones), too many cutouts, and not enough classic and vintage looking pieces.

It's one of those years I would usually go get my new clothes in some classic selling shops instead of the trendy shops, excluding even my favourite ones like Promod, Camaieu, Zara, Pimkie. H&M has never been on my top ten as it's way too much on the trend line, but still, once in a while I find something I like. This season I totally disliked everything there! Camaieu was the only one which had some pieces I liked, but even tho they are having super temptating sales, I can't go there either. And Zara, my feeling is that their prices are getting higher and higher... and their sales are not that cheap by now. There actually were a couple of things I really liked there, expecially a really pretty and retro looking white lace dress, but it was still at 39.90€ on sale, and, to be honest, I think their clothes are not really worth those prices. I might wait untill they do further reductions, but then, if it's no longer there... Who cares?! ;)

Chissene?! ;)

Luckily I've been thrifting and buying vintage SO much in this past year that I have tons of new, unworn, lovely clothes to mix and match with what already is in my wardrobe. So I don't really mind if I can't get anything new this summer. By the way, my closet still needs to be built from scratch, actually... Oh yes!

I've just moved to a new house and that's why I cannot spend any money in new clothes: Every Single Penny goes for the new house project, meaning purchasing new furniture and home accessories of course, but also rent, taxes, contracts, etc... and these things are real blood sucking! :/

We are almost done now... Almost all setted up! The (huge!) sofa is up and fully functioning, while the bedroom is half done... We even placed a new flooring over there! I'll be back with some pics of the work in progress asap. We had to stop at the moment because we were really tired and stressed out by the moving, and every single muscle was in pain for all the physical work we've done. Also, there is a huge heat wave in these days and so... Be it ready or not, we are actually enjoying our new home :)
I am still quite tired, or I'd better say exhausted, and trying to get some rest while there is this new heat wave outside, but luckily our new place is very cool and breezy and we don't feel the urge of going getting burn on fire just by unnecessary going to the outdoors, lol!
By the way, no vacations and summer in town, this year. Oh well!

See ya.
(if I am not going to melt down...)

Abbiamo quasi finito ormai... E' quasi tutto pronto!
Beh, quest'anno niente vacanze e Agosto in città. Evviva!

à bientôt.
(se non mi sciolgo prima...)

Roman ruins "in Bianco"

I really like to dress up in white head to toe, I feel like a character from Agatha Christie's books, or almost like Mark Twain while he was traveling the world promoting his books in his white linen suit - with a straw hat on his head, of course.
Last year, during a visit with friends to the ruins of Carsulae, an antique roman town very close to my hometown, I had a total white, vintage looking outfit: shirt, tea lenght skirt, straw hat and my red Touring guide by hand! My fiancee told me I was looking like a 30s english teacher visiting the roman ruins with the scolarship! And I really liked that. Though I was feeling most like a 70s lady touring the roman ruins.

top, skirt, necklace, earrings: Camaieu - belt & sandals: Zara - straw hat: Piazzola marketplace

Ahhhhh, total white. I wish I could dress like this more often!
Talking about that, a few days back Cécile from L'Armadio del Delitto referred about an awesome rendezvous in Turin: Cena in Bianco (Dinner in White) a flash mob where you eat around the streets in total white outfits! You can find more details and the beautiful pics of the parisian event at Cécile's blog. There is a Facebook page about the Turin's event and a page about the parisian Diner en Blanc. You can subscribe yourself to the Cena in Bianco in Turin by writing an email to cenainbiancotorino@gmail.com. They will tell you about the date where the event will take place - it's a secret!

Ahh, bianco candido!

Well, as I just referred about it and I never published the pics (I was not yet blogging last year!) , I leave you with the pics from the visit to the roman ruins of Carsulae, in Umbria, during last Summer.

If you have never been there and you come to Italy, go visit Umbria! It's the region nearby to Tuscany and it's really peaceful - and beautiful!

Wazzup lately + Almost Spring outdoors

My mind is fullfilled with lots of things lately. I had tons of ideas, things I wanted to talk about, writing more blog posts, uploading tons of pics... And I have no time at all for any of those things. But it's mainly for a good cause: we just found a new apartment, bigger than the two-rooms we live now, and we're moving there soon, so it's all about making projects and choosing furniture, visiting furniture shops, second hand (I made lots of pics there, I hope I can share it asap!) and those pesky, noisy places like Ikea and constantly thinking about the new place!

And then, sadly, there is also some bad news: there was a major earthquake session in Emilia, which is the region where I live. No damages at my palace and in Bologna, but still we are a bit scared and tired. Big quakes are awful, totally scary, but there are continuous minor earthquakes too, which are really stressful, and dizziness is always there. Sadly, it seems that this state is going to last for quite a long time. I hope there won't be major quakes again.

Anyway, I was at my hometown in Umbria for a few days during the past week, which reminded me that last time I was there I made some pics I didn't shared yet.
As we did when I was a little girl, the day after Easter I went with my mom to a tiny church on the top of an hill in the middle of the woods nearby my valley which is a traditional location for Easter picnics. We didn't do picnic, but it was a great day, the sun was shining and the flowers (almost) blooming. I was wearing a nice, plain, basic outfit in jeans + striped shirt, but pretty much comfortable for a trip to the great outdoors. Yep, I was wearing jeans! This is an evidence that I actually wear it, now and then. :)

Trench coat: Zara - Shirt: H&M - Bag: Vintage, my grandma's - Boots: Zara Kids

Although these pics were shoot in a lovely spring day in April, it looks like Fall! But the green foliage here and there and the tiny little shy flower in last pic confirm that we are in Spring.

Never Enough Nautical

Never Enough Nautical

Ooooh adorable little blue dress! I am not sure I could pull it off as it looks as it's made for the youngsters. But I still love it :D
I found pictures of Elle Fanning wearing it, and she looks super cute! But let's face it, she's 14 years old and I have more than the double of her age. But this won't stop me from loving it! :D
This nautical dress is available at Romwe and at Miss Patina as well.
Who knows, maybe if it's ever going on sale I could really think about it.
I might have a crush! <3

Tap Dance Shoes

Yep, I am attending Tap Dance lessons and I love it! It's really fascinating. I have always wanted to learn tap dance, I think I am meant to be, or maybe I was a tap dancer in my previous life (lol!) as to say that I love it it's not enough. It's awesome! I can't wait to get good enough to dance like Gene Kelly or Shirley Temple... aye! :D

(seeeee...)

But then, due to my broken wallet, I avoided to buy tap dance shoes till now.. I am dancing with some simple mary janes with a low heel by now. As long as they are good to dance, I am missing the sound! And the sound is the most important part in tap dance, so now I need real tap dance shoes and I am going to buy it asap, finally.
I found these online, the price is pretty good - these shoes cost way too much in stores! What do you think about it? Is there any tap dancer out there that has some advice for me? With many thanks in advance :)
