Is a
black cat a symbol of bad luck? I don't think so!
They were associated to bad omens, to witches, to demons and to the devil itself. During the Middle Ages tons of cats were killed due human stupidity and prejudice: cats were missing, and without them rat population was dramatically increasing, and this concurred with the spreading of
Black Death.
Even tho black cats are still associated to Halloween, luckily all these superstition are now long gone and we finally live in the
cats era, where our feline friends are free to be what they are: furry, cute, friendly home felines!

Sono stati associati a cattivi presagi, alle streghe, ai demoni e al diavolo in persona. Durante il Medioevo molti, troppi gatti sono stati uccisi per colpa della stupidità umana e dei pregiudizi: la mancanza di gatti per le strade ha fatto sì che i ratti si moltiplicassero, e questo ha contribuito alla diffusione della Peste Nera nei secoli bui.
Anche se i gatti neri sono tuttora associati ad Halloween, per fortuna questi tempi sono ormai andati e queste superstizioni finalmente svanite e oggi viviamo nel pieno dell'era del gatto, dove i nostri amici felini sono liberi di essere ciò che sono: pelosi, cari, amichevoli felini da casa!
