Tap Dance Shoes

Yep, I am attending Tap Dance lessons and I love it! It's really fascinating. I have always wanted to learn tap dance, I think I am meant to be, or maybe I was a tap dancer in my previous life (lol!) as to say that I love it it's not enough. It's awesome! I can't wait to get good enough to dance like Gene Kelly or Shirley Temple... aye! :D

Eh già, sto andando a lezione di Tip Tap e ne sono innamorata! E' davvero affascinante. Ho sempre voluto impararlo... Chissà, forse ero una tap-dancer nella vita precedente (ah ah!) visto che dire che lo adoro è dir poco.. lo trovo magnifico! Non vedo l'ora di essere brava abbastanza da ballare come Gene Kelly o Shirley Temple, ehh! :D

But then, due to my broken wallet, I avoided to buy tap dance shoes till now.. I am dancing with some simple mary janes with a low heel by now. As long as they are good to dance, I am missing the sound! And the sound is the most important part in tap dance, so now I need real tap dance shoes and I am going to buy it asap, finally.
I found these online, the price is pretty good - these shoes cost way too much in stores! What do you think about it? Is there any tap dancer out there that has some advice for me? With many thanks in advance :)

Però, visto che il mio povero portafoglio è piuttosto vuoto, finora ho evitato di comprare scarpe da tip tap. Al momento ballo con delle semplici mary jane col tacco basso. Anche se vanno abbastanza bene per ballare, non fanno suono! E il suono è la parte più importante nel tip tap, quindi adesso è tempo di rompere il salvadanaio e comprare delle vere scarpe da tip tap, finalmente.

Ho trovato queste in un negozio online, il prezzo è piuttosto buono, visto che queste scarpe costano davvero troppo nei negozi specializzati! Che ne pensate? C'è qualche ballerino/a di tip tap qui in giro che può darmi un consiglio utile? Se sì, ringrazio in anticipo :)

 I have had this set in my drafts forever! I even forgot about it... But I really liked the combo here, and that little striped dress is too lovely to pass by, so I finally gave it the missing finish touches.

I am still reading The Great Gatsby, I hope I will finish it some day. Not that it's challenging, eh, but I have reached that point where I started reading 4 or 5 books all together - one thing I never done before as I usually tend to finish the book I am reading before starting a new one. But it seems I am experimenting at this time. Whatever! Have a nice (spring?) day. Stormy weather here, the perfect one to spend at home with a book and a cup of tea. :)

Ho avuto questo set nelle mie bozze per una vita! Mi ero persino dimenticata di lui... Ma mi piaceva molto la combinazione di colori che avevo usato, e poi quel vestitino a righe è un amore, e allora mi sono decisa a dargli i tocchi finali che mancavano.

Sono ancora in piena lettura de Il Grande Gatsby, spero di finirlo, un giorno. Non che sia impegnativo, eh, ma è che mi distraggo e trastullo con altri libri. Sono a quel punto in cui si iniziano 4 o 5 libri contemporaneamente, e non se ne viene a capo! Ed è una cosa che non avevo mai fatto prima, di solito cerco di finire il libro che sto leggendo prima di iniziarne un altro. Ma sembrerebbe proprio che io stia sperimentando, di questi tempi. E Vabbè. Buona giornata! Qui piove e piove ancora, il tempo perfetto da passare con un buon libro e una tazza di tè. :)

Dressing room - Polka dots skirt

Polka dots are way cute and of course, they are my favourite print! I started to share my life with polka dots way before there was this polka-dots-fever that pops out like everywhere right now. Not that it doesn't make me happy, eh. I still have to find the perfect beige dress with polka dots! So yes please, let the fever go on! :DPssst, please don't tell anyone, I have like 10 polka dots dresses in my closet.. And I won't count accessories, shirts and blouses... So, please, don't ask! :D

Even tho they are cute and polished, sometimes wearing polka dots it's a bit tricky and it seem to be a little over the top for a casual everyday wear. So how to tone it down? Let the polka dots be the focus of the outfit and keep it simple by adding basic neutrals and muted tones: blouse, cardigan, little scarf and ballet flats for a nice put together, effortless chic and comfortable everyday wear.
Which one do you prefer, the grey/pink combo or the blue/grey combo?

I pois sono una fantasia davvero carina e di sicuro è la mia preferita in assoluto! Ho iniziato a condividere la mia vita coi pois molto tempo prima che iniziasse questa febbre-da-pallini, ormai sono ovunque! Non che la cosa non mi faccia felice, eh, sono ancora in cerca del perfetto vestitino beige a pois! E allora sì, grazie, che la febbre continui! :P

Ssshhh.. Non ditelo a nessuno, ma ho tipo più di 10 vestitini a pois nel mio guardaroba. E non conterò gli accessori, le magliette e le camicie... Come sia successo non lo so, non chiedetemelo! :D

Anche se è una fantasia molto carina, qualche volta risulta un po' difficile abbinare i pois a un abbigliamento per tutti i giorni, perché i pois possono sembrare un po' vistosi, o troppo allegri e qualche volta fuori luogo.. Ma non è così! Come si fa a abbassarne i toni? Basta tenere il focus sulla gonna mantenendo il tutto semplice abbinandola a capi base dai toni neutri: camicetta, cardigan, una sciarpa leggera e ballerine per un look da tutti i giorni, facile e pratico ma allo stesso tempo chic - e senza sforzo!
Quale vi piace di più, l'abbinamento grigio/rosa o quello blu/grigio?
 

Dressing room - Hostess Revised

A classic silhouette made of classic pieces but in a modern mix. With just some imagination, we could wear basic pieces mixed with stripes or other prints, a pop of color, et voilà! :)
A blue pencil skirt, a t-shirt in navy stripes, a classic blazer and a pop of color with the accessories.
I would go everywhere in this look, the office, casual meetings, a tour in town, aperitif with friends... it has just the right feeling for nearly everything, it's a clean and simple look, ready to go for several different occasions. Plus, these are simple and classic pieces that everyone of us already own, so no shopping involved! ;)
I really like wearing skirts and dressing this way (when I am not wearing dresses!), I'd say that pants and jeans are mostly banned from my wardrobe...

Linea classica fatta di pezzi classici ma in un mix moderno. Basta un po' di fantasia, capi basic e classici da mescolare con righe o stampe, qualche colore vivace, et voilà! :)

Una gonna dritta, una maglietta a righe, un blazer classico e un pizzico di colore grazie agli accessori. Andrei ovunque con questo look, al lavoro, incontri, un giro per la città, un aperitivo con gli amici, un look classico e pulito che è adatto a molteplici occasioni. E poi alzi la mano chi non ha già nel guardaroba questi capi base, semplici e classici allo stesso tempo. E allora niente shopping e il portafoglio non piange! ;)
Mi piace molto indossare gonne e vestirmi più o meno così (quando non indosso vestitini!), direi che i pantaloni e i jeans sono quasi banditi dal mio guardaroba...

A Vintage Lady

I am finally uploading some outfit pics I made back in Autumn. More to follow. I need to catch up before Spring really comes!
This full skirt has been in my closet for quite a long time! It’s one of those garment from my family, vintage all along. I am not exactly sure whose this skirt used to belongs to, maybe a cousin? It’s made of wool, it comes with a matching blouse and belt made of the same cloth. The color is awesome, and you can't really tell from the pic, but it has a subtle tartan pattern all over it. I hope to make some better pics of it next time as it's really worth it, maybe while wearing the whole suit. :)
I wonder why I am not wearing it that often? But I promise I am going to use it a lot on next Fall. I really feel like a vintage lady in it! :)
 

Sto (finalmente!) caricando un po' di foto di outfit che ho fatto lo scorso autunno. Altre dovrebbero essere in arrivo. Devo proprio aggiornare prima che la bella stagione arrivi sul serio!

Questa gonna a ruota è nel mio armadio da tanto, tanto tempo. E' uno di quei vestiti che appartengono alla mia famiglia, che vintage è dir poco! Non so per certo a chi appartenesse, forse a una cugina? E' di lana, ha anche una blusa e una cinta abbinate, fatte con la stessa stoffa. Il colore mi fa impazzire, e anche se non si vede bene nella foto, ha un delicato motivo scozzese. Spero di fargli qualche foto più decente in futuro perchè ne vale davvero la pena, magari indossando tutto il completo. :)

Mi chiedo come mai non la uso più spesso? Ma mi riprometto di indossarla un sacco il prossimo Autunno. Con questa gonna addosso mi sento molto una donna di altri tempi! :)

Dressing room - Floral dress & denim jacket

Floral dress + denim jacket? Welcome Spring!
Easy combo, yet lovely and fresh. Ballet flats, a cognac bag and a big neutral scarf will complete the look. I don't need to go shopping for this look since everything I need is already in my closet :D

Btw, yep, I am having fun at the virtual dressing room... I think it's rather a good way to get back chatting on the blog. I promise, there will  be some real outfits asap, I swear! :P

Un vestitino a fiori e una giacca jeans? Benvenuta Primavera!

Combinazione davvero semplice e veloce, ma anche carina e fresca. Delle ballerine, una borsa color cognac e una bella sciarpa neutra completano il look. E in più non devo nemmeno andare a fare shopping per ottenere questo look, perché ho già tutto quello che mi serve nell'armadio :D

PS. ebbene sì, mi sto divertendo un po' nel camerino virtuale... Credo sia un buon modo per tornare a chiacchierare un po' qua sul blog. Prometto che presto arriveranno degli outfit veri, giuro :P

Dressing room - Blue & polka dots + denim shirt

No. I don't need another blue dress. I don't need another polka dots dress. I don't need another blue & polka dots dress at all! Little blue polka dots wrap dress? I have to try hard on this one. Wrap dresses are always soooo flattering.. But I have too many polka dots, and one little blue dress almost like this. Ok, I will try to bring new life to it as I usually wear it just in summer...
I think I am going to stay fully blue by wearing my freshly thrifted denim shirt underneath, and add some  accessories. Does it seems to work? I really like it how it looks here!

No. Non ho bisogno di un altro vestito blu. Non ho bisogno di un altro vestito a pois. Non ho affatto bisogno di un altro vestito blu & a pois! Un vestitino blu e a pois E anche a portafoglio? Qua devo cercare di resistere... I vestitini a portafoglio stanno sempre così bene addosso. Ma ho davvero troppe cose a pallini, e un vestitino blu molto simile a questo. Ok, allora proverò a dargli nuova vita, perché alla fin fine lo uso quasi esclusivamente in estate... Ma proviamo con un look primaverile!

Rimarrei tutta sul blu mettendo sotto la camicia jeans che ho da poco preso a un prezzo super stracciato al mercato in Montagnola, aggiungendo giusto un po' di accessori. Che ne dite, può funzionare? :P

ModCloth sale!

Today (as usual) I was staring again at ModCloth's beautiful things and I was thinking I needed some sort of sale... Well, it seems they read my mind as I just found a news at their Facebook page! They are going to have a -70% sale! This is great news for sure.
I bought something from them just once but, being overseas, between sending fees and VAT taxes it turned out to be really expensive by the end, so a super sale is going to help and might convince me to buy some of their lovely dresses *insert happy dance here*
I am looking forward to it, I can't wait to see if some of my favourites are in there... :)

Oggi (come al solito) ero lì a guardare le bellissime cose sul sito di ModCloth e stavo pensando che era da tanto che non avevano dei saldi veri e propri.. e tò! Pare che mi abbiano letto nel pensiero perché ho letto sulla loro pagina di Facebook che a breve avranno dei saldi al -70%! Gran bella notizia :)
Ho comprato qualcosa da loro soltanto una volta, ma tra spese di spedizione e tasse doganali, alla fine è risultato davvero dispendioso: ho speso quasi di più in tasse e spedizione che per il vestito stesso! :/
Quindi dei super saldi come questi potrebbero davvero convincermi a comprare di nuovo uno dei loro deliziosi abitini :)
Spero ci sia qualcuno di quelli che adocchiavo da tempo... e se così fosse.. povera me! :D

Another set from my drafts at Polyvore. I feel a little bit more inspired than past two months, and I might be back writing something for the blog too, and maybe seriusly starting taking pics of my outfits. Last couple of months were so few inspirational to me! It has something to do with Xmas time, I think, as I really don't like it and this was so true this year. It's a relief that now the holidays are gone, phew! ;)

Anyway, this set represents me very well: there's many things I like and I sure enjoy to dress like this. Unfortunately I don't have a tapestry bag like that, but it has been on my wish list forever! Someday I'll find the perfect one - or I am going to learn sewing to make it lol!


Un altro set dalle mie bozze su Polyvore. Mi sento un pochino più ispirata che negli ultimi due mesi, e potrei anche tornare a scrivere qualcosina per il blog, e forse anche iniziare seriamente a fare foto dei miei outfits. Gli ultimi due mesi sono stati davvero poco ispirata. Deve avere qualcosa a che fare con il periodo delle feste, credo, perché non mi piace nè mi è mai piaciuto tanto, e quest'anno sono stato particolarmente poco festiva (diciamo anche per niente...). E' un vero sollevo che ora le feste siano finite, fiuuuuuuu!!

Ad ogni modo, questo set mi rappresenta molto bene: ci sono tante cose che mi piacciono e di sicuro mi piace vestirmi in questo modo. E' quasi la mia divisa! Purtroppo non ho una borsa come questa, ma è nella mia lista dei desideri da tempo, magari un giorno troverò quella perfetta - o magari me la cucirò con le mie manine - dopo aver imparato a cucire, lol!
